The mother of three girls, Katie and her family went through a six-year cancer journey with her eldest daughter, Elizabeth, who became her angel on March 10, 2013. In honor of Elizabeth, Katie changed her career to being a Seimei practitioner from years working as an accountant. She also teaches financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship skills to inner city youth for Junior Achievement USA. She frequently serves as a volunteer for many child and adult cancer organizations.
